TERMS OF USE

By using Inquirer Shop, you agree to comply with any applicable posted guidelines for all Inquirer Shop services and products. Inquirer Shop may change, modify or otherwise alter these Terms of Use at any time and the modifications shall become effective immediately upon the posting. You must review this page on a regular basis to keep yourself informed of any changes. 

If you are below 18 years old: you must obtain consent from your parent(s) or legal guardian(s), their acceptance of these Terms of Use and their agreement to take responsibility for: (i) your actions; (ii) any charges associated with your use of any of Inquirer Shop’s services or purchase of Inquirer Shop’s products; and (iii) your acceptance and compliance with these Terms of Use.

Here are some reminders when using Inquirer Shop:

  1. Inquirer Shop can prevent or restrict the access of any customer to the Inquirer Shop website.
  2. Inquirer Shop can request some information and data from you in connection with your purchase of Inquirer Shop’s products and services. Your information is subject to our Privacy Policy as set out here.
  3. Some Inquirer Shop purchases may require a creation of an account in Inquirer Shop. If you create an account with Inquirer Shop, a username and password will be set by you and accepted by us in our sole and absolute discretion in connection with the use of Inquirer Shop’s services. 
  4. Inquirer Shop may, without giving any reason or prior notice, upgrade, modify, suspend or discontinue product offerings and services.
  5. All prices are subject to taxes, unless otherwise stated. Inquirer Shop reserves the right to amend the listed prices at any time without giving any reason or prior notice.
  6. Your purchase of any product or service is subject to the Terms of Sale.
  7. Inquirer Shop has limitations. We do not warrant that our products and services will be provided uninterrupted or free from errors and defects.
  8. You consent to receive emails for the purposes of promotions, communications, notices, and updates.

TERMS OF SALE

  1. GENERAL TERMS OF SALE

1.1. Definitions

1.1.1 “Inquirer Shop”, “we”, and “us” refer to the website shop.inquirer.com.ph and The Philippine Daily Inquirer, Inc.

1.1.2 “You”, “your” refers to the customer and site user.

1.2 About Inquirer Shop Products and Services

Inquirer Shop offers news subscription products, books, merchandise, as well as online courses. Inquirer Shop reserves the right to modify the content, type and availability of any of its products at any time. 

1.3. Processing and Payment

Inquirer Shop will process your purchase as promptly as possible. There may be a delay in the processing of your order while payment details are verified.

Inquirer Shop accepts major credit cards, wallets and PayPal. Inquirer Shop reserves the right to reject any order or purchase at any time.

If your initial payment authorization is later revoked, your subscription, product or access will be terminated. Contact our Subscription Team if you believe your access was terminated in error.

Unless specified otherwise in the Cancellation and Refund Policy, all charges are nonrefundable.

Inquirer Shop may receive updated credit card information (new credit card number or updated expiration date) from your credit card issuer. The disbursement of the updated credit card information is provided to us at the election of your credit card issuer. 

1.4. Pricing

When you purchase a product or service, the price will be made clear during the order process. You agree to pay the price that is stated at the time of your order. You also agree to the billing frequency stated at the time of your order.

All prices are in Philippine Pesos.

Inquirer Shop reserves the right to change prices and fees at any time. We will notify you in advance if the regular rate of a product changes from what was stated at the time of your order. 

1.5. Billing

1.5.1. Billing of One-Time Purchases

When you make a one-time purchase, Inquirer Shop will charge or debit your payment method at the time of purchase.

1.5.2. Billing of Recurring Purchases

Inquirer Shop will charge or debit your payment method at the beginning of your subscription. Billing will continue according to the cycle stated at the time of your order. You will not be notified in advance of impending renewals.

1.6. Unpaid Charges

If your credit card expires or your payment method is otherwise invalid, Inquirer Shop will notify you if you wish to retain your subscription. Otherwise, your subscription will be discontinued.

1.7. Promotions

Inquirer Shop may occasionally offer promotions. The specific terms of each promotion are stated at the time the promotion is offered. Each promotion may be different. Promotions cannot be combined.

Inquirer Shop will not notify you in advance that the promotion is about to end. Inquirer Shop will not notify you when your promotional rate has ended. To cancel and avoid being charged, you must notify Inquirer Shop before the promotion ends.

1.8. Software Products

If you purchase a digital subscription that includes downloadable software, your download and use of that software may be subject to additional terms or end user license agreements.

  1. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

2.1. Cancellation and Refunds of Digital Subscriptions

When you cancel a subscription, you cancel only future charges associated with your subscription. You may notify us of your intent to cancel at any time, but the cancellation will become effective at the end of your current billing period. You will not receive a refund for the current billing cycle. You will continue to have the same access and benefits of your product for the remainder of the current billing period.

Inquirer Shop reserves the right to issue refunds or credits at our sole discretion. If we issue a refund or credit, we are under no obligation to issue the same or similar refund in the future.

2.1.1. Changes to Content or Access

Inquirer Shop reserves the right to make changes to our digital products at any time. If Inquirer Shop temporarily reduces or eliminates the charge for content or access that you are currently paying for under different terms, you will not receive a refund.

2.1.2. Cancellations by Inquirer Shop

Inquirer Shop reserves the right to suspend or terminate your subscription or product for any reason, with or without notice and without further obligation. You will not be entitled to a refund in these circumstances.
